Friday, October 2 2020-The Mohawks of Bethune-Bowman under the leadership of Coach Glynn Darby, opened their 20-21 football campaign with a 34-6 defeat to fellow Region 6A foe; the Tigers of Allendale-Fairfax. The loss puts the Mohawks Region 6A and overall record at 0-1 for the season. In the loss the Mohawks were led on offensive by Senior Quarterback, Trevon Davis who was 12 of 25 for 168 yards that include a passing touchdown of 70 yards to Senior Wide Receiver Bradley Washington who caught 2 passes for a total of 103 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, the Mohawks were led in tackles by Senior Defensive Tackle Tyreek Jenkins with 9 total tackles, Junior Defensive Lineman Omar Washington with 8 total tackles, Freshmen Defensive Lineman Ahmond Green with 8 total tackles. The Mohawks next contest will be away from the friendly confines of Mohawk Stadium, when they face fellow Region 6A foe Bamberg-Ehrhardt on the road.
